The greatest psyop to ever exist was telling people that playing videogames is a hobby. It's made so many people only churn through games because they have nothing better to do and will eventually just get bored. What you need is a real hobby, something constructive. Go meet people, make friends and find out what an actual community feels like. Go to your LGS and play card games, rpgs and wargames since thats the most adjacent thing to videogames. If not, pick up a sport - there's an ungodly amount of sport out there so it's impossible to not find one you can't enjoy, especially when you start making friends there.
Once you start playing games less, you'll appreciate them more when you just want to unwind and have some alone time.

Take a break and do literally anything else that sounds interesting
For me it's shitposting on /v/ for 16 hours a day and going to bed when I can't find anything to play. Try emulating some of your favorite childhood games if nothing seems fun maybe, or watch some movies or something.

I disagree about video games not being a hobby but this is the truest thing I've read on this board.
Vidya is still a hobby though, it shouldn't be your only hobby.

Then your fundamental drawing level is too low. Try monochrome painting and then introduce a limited palette. If you can't paint in monochrome, then you haven't built the drawing fundamentals to control light and shadow yet. Reduce things to small planes and consider the light on each first, as if you were rendering them out of triangle surfaces like a computer does. Draw gently in straight lines for outlines and refine those edges by adding more and removing as if you're sculpting the outer surface. You will get to a point where you can paint like this, colour balance is a different issue that you will figure out from practice, but provided you control value and form you will have something that looks like what you want it to.

In all seriousness, if you're taking up a hobby like painting and not trying to be a fine artist, the value is in the process more than the result. The pleasure is all in the act of painting or drawing and the refinement of your own ability. Do consider giving it a try.

Just write whatever shitty isekai/harem/litrpg apocalypse story you could imagine, it doesnt have to be anything special or unique, just look at what's popular and copy it but change it a little with your own style (if you have any) and then post that shit on Webnovel, Royal Road, and Scribblehub... if you write it autistically enough, it'll get followers that will be willing to give you money for more chapters..

Teach yourself to enjoy fiction. Reading is the mentally healthiest way to burn time on the couch. Anons think they don't like to read but then they sit and read this very website for hours on end. It's all about finding the right content for you:

1. Immediately disregard other people's lists and recommendations. Fiction has the most variety of all media. What other people like is probably not what you'll end up liking.

2. Also disregard the literary canon. Those books weren't written for you, and you will not enjoy them.

3. Choose a vidya franchise you like and try the most popular novelization. If you don't like it immediately then just put it down. Treat books like Youtube videos. They aren't sacred relics. Read what you like and just skip what you don't.

5. Keep trying different books and short stories that intrigue you. For me it was short stories, by the way. Look for cool cover art, connections to an IP you already know, some kind of kinship you feel with the author's life story, etc. Could be Warhammer 40k or Star Wars novelizations. Could be girly paranormal romance.

6. You'll know you've found the one when reading stops being a ten-minute break activity you do when you're bored and starts being something you look forward to. You'll dwell on that story even when you aren't reading it, imagining the world and wondering about all its possibilities.

7. Read more of that author until you get bored or run out of his work. Then find a similar author from the same genre or literary scene, probably one of the first author's influences or admirers. I did this and can now read and write for pleasure. I strongly recommend you try it. My starting point and the first work to fully immersed me was Conan the Barbarian by Robert E. Howard. Now I read all kinds of related work. When I'm old I will be an expert on the Weird Fiction genre, but will never have touched Faulkner or Dostoevsky

You're depressed, anon.
The worst thing you can do is to change nothing. To keep playing games that you can't muster to be interested in. To keep spending more time on sites like 4chan idling around, not discussing your hobbies, but just endlessly browsing. To always give in shorter temptations, becoming less and less resilient to them over time.
By doing all of these things, not only are you prolonging it, but trapping yourself deeper and deeper, as you convince yourself it's where you belong.
If there's nothing else, well do nothing. Literally look at a wall for some time, I can assure you it'll be better. Sure, there's better things you could be doing, but fulfilling things like active hobbies also take effort to get into, which is the one resource you're low on right now. You need to put into your mind that for now you don't need to replace all the bad habits with good ones, but even with nothing is more beneficial.

Then, once you manage to give your brain some breathing room, games won't be boring again.

You're welcome. Same goes for working in sanguine, pastels etc - starting with monochrome is a fantastic way of using the knowledge you build up in pencils to gain familiarity with a different medium and way of expression. Same goes for a limited palette, it sounds like a meme but pick a nice palette (e.g. the Zorn one for portraiture) and learn the ins and outs by failure and success. Eventually you'll always have those mixes stored away in your brain in a way that a mess of fifty different colours will never offer.

A step between monochrome and small (e.g. 4-6) colour palettes might be to pick a light colour and a shadow colour too, or even a warm and cool version of the same colour and employ them carefully. Best of luck with your painting/drawing/art, anon.
