>trying to learn the skills to make a game
>learned how to draw in 6 months
>learned how to program in 2 months
>learned how to model in Blender in a month
>all with free and easily available online resources
>looking for music theory and composition resources all this time
>literally can't find shit
>what little I find has the teachers being obtuse on purpose and never explaining HOW to actually make music

Why the fuck is music making so gatekept? Especially compared to other more valuable skills

Just lean in a midi keyboard if it is so hard. Music is easy if you've got functioning ears. You don't need to write a symphony vidya music is mostly ambience.

Because unlike most artistic skills, music is very much a "brute force it until it works" field. Humans still have yet to truly figure out the objective difference between good music and bad music. That's why we call it "Music Theory". Because we can only describe it as "this sound make earhole feel good".
Just keep trying. You'll get it eventually if you're persistent enough. Cave Story's OST was made by a guy who claimed to know jack shit about music.

The problem with music composition is that most of it consists of plagiarizing and tutors can't just come out and say it so they dance around the issue and hope you'll catch on to the grift

You need to be born with talent to make music, if you didn't, you won't be able to learn it, music isn't a basic skill like drawing, programming or 3D modelling.

Making music is too easy so the only way musicians can keep their jobs is by turning everyone else away

Can I make music if Iโ€™m not dextruous enough to play an instrument? My hands have nerve damage so itโ€™s hard to move my lower fingers
