Their games are good but I'm starting to hate Hades' writing. The first one would be annoying at times with the fluffed up pointless dialogue, but the cast was likeable so it was fine and I mostly remember it as an occasional issue. This game really highlights how miserable every interaction is. Characters with almost one-dimension giving thinly-veiled exposition with a paragraph of unnecessary words and zero personality, and that's when the dialogue is lucky enough to have any relevance and not just be some stale non-sequitur. I like most of the other things in the game, but at this point that motherfucker has filled it up with so much of his college-paper-word-requirement ass writing that it would need a whole new script to convince me it's worth paying attention to the story.

Selene's fine, especially since you can almost max out her ability tree immediately with her Keepsake maxed out.
Feel they went overboard with Hestia's buffs, though. Any build I've experimented with her has been absolutely broken; I had no trouble beating Chronos' Rival fight on my first attempt with her.
She's like Dionysus from Hades 1 if he wasn't complete shit.

Transistor has a great OST but playing it is a chore.

Hades 2 is the studio losing their way of never doing sequels. Should've been a different setting with the same gameplay and graphic style. Smt like Babylonian or Egyptian pantheons instead.

I am genuinely wondering how Hades 2 is gonna justify the post game considering the stakes. Zag becoming chief security inspector and running drills for the rest of eternity works fine since the stakes were just family drama but I'm having a very hard time imagining a scenario where Chronos, Typhon, and Prometheus all decide to just hang around and get their asses kicked on the regular for funsies and Hades just kinda lets Chronos keep the house.

Honestly, the only designs in 2 that I hate are Hestia and Chaos. Hestia because she's both somehow bland and overdesigned at the same time. I actually don't give a fuck about the vitiligo /v/ screeched about but the whole making her INTO a hearth feels way too on-the-nose. As for Chaos, turning them into gaudy fujobait anime pretty boy is just retarded and makes no sense with their character. Their original design was unique and actually fit the theme of unknowable, illogical, and every changing chaos and their indifferent yet inquisitive nature. I maintained from day 1 that suddenly taking on a distinctly human form made no sense and up until the most recent update, they never actually offered any explanation. Turns out that explanation is given in a single throwaway line on a single visit and the devs just decided to co-opt the retarded fan theory that "hurrrrr they just decided to try it out for funsies after meeting Zag." Fucking stupid.

Otherwise, the rest of the designs are just fine. Linework isn't as clean and appealing as H1 but that's the art direction, not the designs themselves.

The original design was fine but if you’re trying to have Chaos specifically be genderless/androgynous to show that they’re from a time before any sort of bifurcation of sexes or anything close to that, it wasn’t quite there. You can call it fujobait, but Chaos’s design in 2 looks really cool.

of all the bosses in the game, I am genuinely amazed to see people struggling with Typhon since I have never lost to him once. VoR Polyphemus is more bullshit than Typhon. All you have to do to beat Typhon is sit under his chin and wail on him and the only thing he can hit you with that does meaningful damage is an extremely telegraphed chin slam. Even after they made him harder in the update, he's still a piss easy victory lap of a boss after beating Prometheus.
