Cranky Kong is either A) a crank or a liar, B) Nintendo being extremely generous and saying he never battled Mario/Jumpman, but ages ago he had some unseen parallel adventure that mirrored the events ala Luigi in Mario Thousand Year Door.

Bananza is a prequel to Donkey Kong 1981. This is far more simple and makes more sense than "Pauline was aged down and everyone forgot all memories of her for... some reason" or "Pauline and Mario had a baby as pre-teens, and called her Pauline, AND abandoned her"

The implication you're trying to make is that Pauline was wearing the outfit she has in Bananza, somehow got de-aged and this ripped up the dress and lost her shoes.

This is silly. A momentary glance is all you need to see this is a child's dress, it would not fit a adult woman. Pauline doesn't wear jeans under her dress as an adult, nor does Bananza feature a scene where she is turned back from a rock and finds a pair of jeans to wear. She just has the jeans on, indicating this is what she was wearing before the events of the story began.

Why is her dress ripped and dirty? Since this game is a prequel it is giving Pauline a backstory, and if you want to indicate a character is poor / orphan you depict them wearing ripped clothes.
