How many times do you have to hear it? Nintendo players DO NOT buy third party games. They've been trained this way since the N64. Every new generation follows from children not knowing any better to adults deliberately deciding not to support traitors. That is the mindset they're dealing with.

If the sales collapsed, it didn't matter afterwards because it sold well to begin with. Frontloaded sales is the term, common enough. The abnormal games are the GTAs and Nintendo 1st party titles that sell for years.

You know damn well that is absolute bullshit, if that's the case the other games in the list that do keep selling doesn't even matter.
Well it does because games constantly selling means continued interest by the players over the series and would help greenlight any future games.
Just look at Yakuza LAD, sold terribly at launch and yet it keeps selling and still got a sequel with Infinite Wealth and of course it keeps selling to nearly 3 million.
