>>713624582>>713624795You need to meet the minimum specs defined by the DisplayHDR standard, but there are different tiers and the vast majority of the time stuff that calls itself HDR only meets the requirements for the lowest tier which is DisplayHDR 400. This means that the screen must be capable of reaching a peak brightness of at least 400 nits but only one dimming zone is required, i.e. you only need to be able to dim the whole backlight array at the same time. DisplayHDR 600 kicks it up a notch to a minimum of 600 nits and IIRC like 8 individual dimming zones which is fuck all, speaking from experience here. DisplayHDR 1000 usually has a thousand plus zones at least but I just decided to cut the bullshit and go straight to OLED.
