>>713631112Level 5's RPGs, historically, usually try to do way too much and come up short in multiple departments. Like the war sim and town building in Ni no Kuni 2. But all the little things in Fantasy Life i feed into each other very well. The game mechanics might be simple, but I think it does rewards better than almost any game I've played. For example, by farming crops you can trade the vegetables in for a cash resource that is otherwise difficult to obtain, and you can spend that special cash on rare materials without needing to do the dungeons for them. You can get cute little companion characters as rewards for completing crafting quests, and those characters can help you with your battling, crafting and resource harvesting. I've spent many hours getting materials from dungeons just to craft into objects for decorating my island. It all ties together very nicely, and there is apparently some free DLC on the way too. It gets my full recommendation.
