Remakes are a MEME. Not every game needs one. That game isn't broke, it doesn't need "fixed", and the people who would no doubt be in control of said remake would most likely be nothing like the creative minds behind it and work to it's detriment, as we've seen before.

Appealing to the lowest common denominator, or the greatest amount of people, should NEVER be the primary focus when making a game. Audiences are of course important, but it's a creative medium that gets shot in the foot when you actively work against the thing to appeal to more. If that attitude were applied to some of my favortie games they wouldn't be my favorite games.

Clunky combat? That was the point. You can pop heads left and right when you are a master at a given weapon type not when you're untrained or barely trained.
Graphics? Yeah I'm sure having gray filter, yellow paint, and shit ton of meaningless clutter will make the game better,
Oh and it would have to be accessible to increase sales which inherently goes against the design of the game. It's made to make you think about what you're doing and how things interact and not just follow the map marker.
The only people that want a Deus Ex remake are people who got filtered hard but want to belong to the cool kids club for playing one of the most influential game without actually playing it.

You really can't, no game has ever "needed" to be remade and even if they did remake it and it was good it would still be a different game. Playing re4(2023) is not the same as playing re4(2005). If you played only one then you haven't played the other, and given that re4(2005) and deus ex are so beloved, the fact that people will just play a remake and say "oh yeah I've played that" is atrocious. It's like if somebody watched the robocop remake or the total recall remake and claimed they'd seen the originals cause hey whats the difference? Even if a game is bad, sure you could make a good remake but you'd just be making a new game with an older games coat of paint. Might as well just make something new.

I play this game every year and I can definitively say it does not need a remake.

My issue with remakes is that the original becomes more forgotten and harder to obtain. Remakes simply cannibalize the originals and makes it all the more unlikely the originals will ever see the light of day.

See the original Demon's Souls, which is well-known to be superior to the remake by all except the most subhuman and degenerate examples of mankind. You can't even buy it anymore and Snoy has completely memoryholed it in favor of the remake.

Fix combat, balance, encounter design and trash party AI (or implement direct player control), and maybe add some QoL features. Won't ever happen though, and even if it did, the soulless golems would just sand off all the "problematic" content from the game.
