Always have. NES, SNES, PS1 etc. games back in the day lasted anywhere between 2-15 hours, depending on how good you were at the game. Games that would take me days to beat as a kid, I can complete in one sitting as an adult.
A video game is supposed to be a compact, fun experience that you remember fondly afterwards, not something that becomes a second job, that you sink your valuable life into.
I hate games that do not have a conclusive ending. You always feel bad quitting them because of all the time invested
