Because romance is another vehicle for role play and storycrafting. The type of romance option your character would pursue adds even greater characterization. Sadly, devs always seem to treat romance as an afterthought and a way to get people to lonely people to play the game.

Was blade dancer a mistake?

Just finished Act 1, I'm almost disappointed at how easy the Aurora fight was, it walled me a bit at launch on Unfair but I just destroyed him this time around.

Made my party RT Bladedancer Assassin, Idira and Overseer, Abelard a Vanguard (with a shield), Cassia a Grand Strategist, Argenta an Arch-Militant (is there anything else we can truly pick for her?) Kibellah an Executioner and benched the two other bozos.

Pecking order is defined by how much you can back it up in the moment. A guardsman driving a tank with a rogue trader in his sights gets to order them around.

The problem is that the main story travels along a vaguely dogmatic/iconoclast road so both of those feel reputations feel natural. The game doesnt change enough for Chaos. You just act like a schizo every once in a while and nobody makes too much of a fuss about it for most of the game. The in game reason is that you're an undercover chaos worshipper basically.
It's fine though if it's what you really want.
They might give it an additional 20 minutes of content in the Enhanced Definitive edition in 2027

Assuming you own Void Shadows act 1 gets a few new minor events for exploring your void ship as well as a massive section for going into the depths of the ship to meet the death cult. I would advise saving death cult for act 2 though since it overlevels you too much for Aurora and there are some nice interactions from the act 2 party members inside (Jae hates Kibellah with a passion).

You have a homeworld that changes stats and gives access to special feats, origin that changes stats and gives access to unique active abilities and feats, two archtypes with their own passive and active abilities that you can pick.
Overall the gameplay is way better than Pathfinder but the game is just so much easier so build autism is just for fun (and its really)

Some of the companions have unique origins and home worlds with their own feats
In general each character plays very different, one of the DLC companions has her own unique series of feats and abilities that allows her to stain the tiles with blood and get bonuses for it, the problem is that she kills everything very fast even without it.

RT has a serious issue with difficulty scaling (lack of), vs party strength. By the end of chapter 2 you can accidentally have 1 or more characters who can clear encounters in 1 turn with low effort, and you will just be ???? at how this came to be.

the mechanics are very confusing to me but I have a strong rpg background (dnd 2nd ed and 3rd ed)
reached the Uralon fight and got destroyed in 2 turns
chaos marines doing over 140 hp damage with flamers that have crazy high intiative
on top of that I thought it would be cool to roleplay an actual ship captain so I went with a support build strategist with almost no direct damage combat perks
I got to be honest this fight filtered me and uninstalled the game maybe season 2 I will restart and respec

the build autism comes from the game leveling you up every 10 min and throwing an item at you that has some weird synergy like grenades are free 1/combat or +1 rof etc. It's the owlcat formula perfect, you are always receiving a little dopamine improvement every 10min and it fucking lasts 100h (you will still find build-changing items super late in the game)
