Because they die and I am unable to really form any sort of bond with them like I could in other series like Shin Megami Tensei, Digimon, Pokemon, Jade Cocoon, The Dragon Quest games that allow you monster team members.
Also the disc thing sadly isn't a thing anymore. I had more fun seeing what monsters were in my family's CDs and DVDs than actually playing the game most of the time.
Digimon World 1 also gave me PTSD
