>>713670275 (OP)Depends what you like about games. For me it's the atmosphere and the things that contribute to that, as well as the things that (should not) interfere with it. SM isn't perfect in that regard, but I still felt it did the best over any other entry. There are definitely still great things about the other games though, like the movement system and tuning in Dread that makes it feel so buttery smooth and great to use.
I'm also someone that loves SOTN btw even though it has less well-designed gameplay than SM, simply because of how the audio, visuals, and amount of details in the castle, items, enemies, etc come together to make a really cool unique feel that really doesn't seem to be replicated anywhere else, and it's sad to me that there are people/brains that are not attuned to enjoying that, just as there are people who might somehow put SM on an inferior pedestal to SOTN. I believe they each have their strengths and weaknesses while have similarities, but overall are both equally great in how much I have enjoyed them.
