I’ve been playing Dragon Quest Heroes 2 lately. While the first one was clunk as fuck with the mechanics it was charming enough to win me over with its simple but well executed generic story so I ultimately gave it a pass because it was the first and it was originally a PS3 game. The second on the other hand not only didn’t improve on the formula at all, it fell into the same exact gameplay shortcomings of the first except with a worse selection of characters and worse story. Supremely disappointed in the lack of refinement with the addition of a pointless overworld and relegating my favorite character, Bianca, to being only playable in some contrived online dungeon mode

90% of musous are lazy dogshit. i used to love them, but they seem to be designed solely as easy cashgrabs now

I agree most of them are not very good especially the newer ones, the empires games are pretty good though

I just can't get into musou, no matter how hard I fucking try, I can cut my teeth on real dense shit like Valhalla Knights but mowing down dudes just doesn't illicit any kind of joy from me. Sucks man.

And that's a particularly weak one. I liked the Attack on Titan games. You can jump straight to 2 as it recovers the parts that 1 showed.

>Musou Orochi 5 that expands the East Asian myths and stupider crossovers again never ever

Try the older games. Peons actually fighting back and morale meter having an effect on the battlefield was peak Musou

I really don’t know why this didn’t have more playable characters when most of the bosses had complete movesets.
