Not having one hand to push every single button, being able to hold the analog stick to the left and not having to keep lifting up the mouse just seems much cleaner to me and everyone says that a true fps is played with a mouse and keyboard but I've always found it easier to play with a 360 or ps3 controller. Now I am positive that is because I played console games my whole life but I still don't see how moving a mouse along a mouse pad can be any more accurate than moving a stick

Mice and keyboards have sub 1ms input latency even when wireless, a controller doesn't come close to even 20x that wired

A computer mouse is a very precise input that has a lot of good uses for video games.
I also believe there are more games that benefit more from analog sticks and real buttons than there are games that require precision aiming with a mouse.
Controllers also don't require desks or tables to use.
Controllers also feature vibration, haptic feedback, speakers, microphones, reactive light bars, NFC scanners, IR blasters, gyroscopes and accelerometers and pointers, and so on.
These are purpose built gaming devices. The benefits are immediately obvious. Mouse is an accepted necessity. If there was a controller that could offer real precision aiming like a mouse, people would immediately stop using them.
Meanwhile in the real world
A gamepad is a jack of all trades, master of none. Its not even the best device for a platformer or a shmup, a joystick is.

A keyboard can be unintuitive for a lot of genres, but it can get the job done, and more.

one of the main reasons computers were first created and developed further into an entire industry was literally to run video games. and they used keyboard first, controllers came after to make it cheaper to sell as a consumer product. there are better controllers then kbm, but kbm works totally fine as it is already and works without aim assist while twitch accuracy isn't possible with a console controller.

I do think the keyboard is a weakness in PC gaming vs some sort of unique hand interface set up but nothing has ever caught on despite decades of companies trying different stuff. In another time line we are all gaming on some sort of digital claw like set up or at least the single 1/2 keyboard set ups.
I also think auto-aim needs to 100% go from all games, even if it's console only FPS stuff. Being all gaming actions in PvP should be player only unless the auto-aim etc is some sort of deliberate and limited power up move.
