They really aren't a thing anymore, MS basically gave up their competing in the console market and only make new ones because it's just another revenue streams, Sony and Nintendo have such wildly different demographics that there's really nothing to argue about

Like other anon said they just aren’t a thing anymore, I think the only remnants left outside of /v/ taking the piss about Sonys/tendies are PC and non-PC users shitting on each other, and frankly that’s more poor people vs. not-poor people.


The console wars happened in the time that they did because multiplats weren’t as ubiquitous in the 90s/early 00s, and especially in the 90s companies fanned the flames because they were truly invested in getting players into their ecosystem, enticing them with actual exclusive games and features. And by fanned the flames I mean actually publishing more inflammatory ads in a time where less people just got their opinions from the internet, there’s probably a better way to word this but in short the consoles’ identities were much more well-defined, and the more personality these have the easier it is to get into arguments about it.

Honest console warring is literally dead. Xbox is a shambling corpse that's leaving for PC, leaving Sony and Nintendo as the only actual competing console manufacturers. But the thing is, since Nintendo basically left the home console market with the hybird Switch, leaving Sony behind as the only actually relevant home console brand. PC has been doing its own thing since video games were invented, it was never relevant in console wars outside PCMR shitposting.
