He's right. FromSoft literally just copies shit from DeS without understanding why it works eg. losing souls on death. In games like Dark Souls it basically encouraged you to return to the dangerous path instead of chickening out. Basically - are you willing to give up all that shit you just lost or will you return and risk it?

Meanwhile in Elden Ring open world is so vast that losing souls doesn't fucking matter anymore. You can always go somewhere and grind to your heart's content.

Same with all the thematic and gameplay elements - ER even has basically the same intro as DeS (character walking into ligth, powerpoint slideshow etc.) but at the same time they miss the important story elements such as i dunno THE STORY MAKING ANY FUCKING SENSE?

In DeS characters LITERALLY, OPENLY tell you what the fuck is going on, what you need to do and what is important. In Elden Ring, no one tells you what Elden Ring even fucking is (probably because they rewrote that shit a billion times a month before release).
