My only real complaint about 5 was that the characters sucked honestly. I know the gameplay is clunky but I feel like even the fighting, with how slow it is, at least felt different. Fists were really fun, sucker punching a monster and picking them up and tossing them and nuking shit with an AOE was FUN...

It's Madou Monogatari, the original series Puyo Puyo spun off from, they're dungeon crawlers. I honestly don't know the status of the old ones, they were all Japan-only and I think almost none is fan-translated. A company called Compile used to make them for Sega until they went bankrupt, some of the same people formed Compile Heart afterwards and Sega sometimes lets them use the license to make new games nowadays, though they don't let them use the human characters that used to be in the originals and are now in Puyo Puyo. I suggest just looking up footage of the new one that's about to come out to see if it's your thing, it looks cheap but cute.

Okay, so, TENOKE sucks vagina, I downloaded his patch and it didn't even work. But I found a based TRANNYGIRL repack in the same place, so I just downloaded that instead knowing fittranny would never let me down. Granted, his gay repack almost crashed my PC since I was probably in a goon sesh at the time and with all my music and superfluous tabs open at once, the ol' girl (my PC wife) wasn't too happy. so i was able to play properly. The tutorial still drags on for fucking ever, but long story short...it's not bad. I kind of like it.

But I don't LOVE it. They still changed WAAAAAAAAAAY too much. GRANTED, some of the changes are insanely good quality of life improvements that I can't imagine ever going without, so looks like I'm never replaying RF4 or RF5.

But still. They changed TOO fucking much. Some of those grind-heavy, autistic things they got rid of in favor of quality of life improvements were Rune Factory staples that I genuinely was looking forward to getting to do again. They rewarded autistic hyperfocus stubbornness. They are gone now.
