No. You see before any race in online, players are given 3 track options to vote, which 90% of the time have the intermissions (you have to race "straight lines" to reach the track and you do 1 lap at the end). Before the update, you could choose a fourth option, which is random, and whatever track it was picked for you, it was alqays the 3 lap version, which lead to most people voting random every time just to get the 3 laps. But after the update, even the random option gives you intermissions 90% of the time

Nintendo should provide the 3 option of online play
-Standard tracks only, picked randomly, it doesn't matter what track you played previously
-All the tracks, picked randomly (so the connection tracks will mostly appear, as there are more of them), it doesn't matter what track you played previously.
-Only connection tracks connected to the last standard track you played, picked randomly from the available one, but you also have to do 3 laps once you arrive on the new standard track instead of just 1 lap.
