GF took them off making the side RPG games, downsized them and made them make the PokΓ©mon Trozei and Shuffle games instead. Pokemon Battle Revolution was going to be a full RPG Pokemon game like Colo and XP before Game Freak made Genius Sonority make it just a battle sim. I miss that old lonely and mysterious atmosphere of old MH games so fucking much. Got you immersed immediately. GTA:SA is an example of limitations inspiring creativity. The fact they leaned on the fact the PS2 couldn't render a whole city at once, and they made the lack of appear like a smog obscuring your vision, gave San Andrea a sense of immersion that I feel like can't be properly replicated.

>>713706562
Sorry reading that honestly made me angry. Because when I criticized SwSh as an example that GF doesn't know what they're doing, I argued that they're a AAA company pretending to be an indie company. PREASE UNDERSTAND was a meme I'd always throw at them. But no, they know their games are low effort garbage, and they go out of their way to shut down anyone that shines a light on that. And apparently, you don't even need to be a ROMhacker for that to happen because GS was hired by GF and they still got fucked

What really gave credence to MH's identity was how close the environments resembled real life locales. And they achieved that with PS2, PSP and Wii hardware. It really tied in with MH's focus on ecology. Since the 4th gen the environments have become more of a spectacle, and I think they really lost what made them stand out from other games.

Excellent choice, anon. Dungeon Siege 1 Enjoyers, where are you at? Music and sfx design were superb. The angelic choir of the revive statues in the multiplayer map was very comfy and made you feel safe. Like the mystery and wonder for an empire that has long passed like the health and mana shrines and other ruins you'd encounter on your journey.
WoW spooky provinces and especially Duskwood's quest lines were kino. You learn about the local lore of ghouls and monsters and the tie-in with the Scythe of Elune which you need to globe trot to Ashenvale to start it.

The hardest part was always trying to shimmy the chopper through without blowing the rotors out on the doors. Made doing those cop missions a breeze when you can go full Blue Thunder on their asses. The most hilarious part about them is the NPCs themselves. Yeah if you're going to have a jumpscare in your game this is the smart way to do it. Even if the scare itself is cheap it puts the fear of potential jumpscares in the back of the player's mind for the rest of the playthrough, constantly wondering when the next one will happen.

Worth playing, but you definitely want to import your pokemon from the GB games since it's nearly impossible (you need perfect RNG) to beat the campaign with just rental pokemon.
>Colosseum
Amazing aesthetic. It's a fairly short game with a lot of battles. Starts you off with an Espeon and Umbreon that already have levels on them. Shadow pokemon were a cool mechanic, but is extremely limited in this game.
>XD
Improves on the Shadow pokemon mechanic in every aspect, making them a lot more fun to actually use in battle and allowing trainers to have more than one at a time. As much as I love this game, there is still one event that burnt my ass hard. You don't actually fight the robo-Groudon. It literally just heals and evolves the guy's pokemon.

I think a lot of remakes miss the mark when it comes to making new renditions of old music, but the original track was just generic in Gold, Silver, and Crystal... Gamefreak didn't disappoint with a somber rendition of Cinnabar Island in HGSS.

team fortress 2 is such an enigma if you dwell on it. a game from 2007 is not only still up and active but it manages to keep pulling in new players and generating popularity on social media. the stylization prevents it from ever looking dated and keeps it looking visually distinct. you still get videos in the millions of views for a tf2 meme video or a tf2 youtuber doing something or even a gmod animation. people still churn out fan art, custom maps, item ideas, and overall discussion for it. it's an undying concept in every single way, just something from the good years of gaming and the internet that still prevails without compromising itself. I love WoW and with the amount of WoW locations here it tells you it's similar to tf2 in relevancy but fuck it's easily one of if not the most bastardized game ever. thinking about how WoW is still alive and what it is now makes me sick, mostly since I still play it, while tf2 is just a bit worse than it was in its peak but mostly because of the newfags on the internet these days rather than something with valve or the game itself but it's no where near as awful as most modern games, it continued well past its heyday without rotting away like most games or shows or whatever. you can go pretty far online in either the game or forums or videos without seeing too much living garbage infesting that game. it's not that bad. it also really helps that tf2 has a "classic" version still available today in the orange box. I play that version pretty regularly and it's fucking perfect, everything I said before and there's a frozen piece of the game that maintains its original 2007 version with an active player base since it's the only way console players get to play tf2.
anyways I think tf2 is extremely comfy in many ways, the og maps especially so.

Lordran is my favorite vidya world. Specifically my favorite locations would be:

- Undead Burg, Asylum, Parish
- Anor Londo
- Firelink Shrine
- New Londo Ruins
- The Duke's Archive
- The Catacombs
- Tomb of Giants
- Sen's Fortress
- Darkroot Garden, Basin
- Depths
- Painted World
- All DLC locations are also good

The only truly awful location in the game is Lost Izalith and Cyrstal Cave. This is my favorite vidya of all time. Everyone who says the second half of Dark Souls is shit is simply a faggot. Suck it bitch, your opinion is shit. Firelink Shrine is maximum comfy and I religiously listen to that song.
