Learn to draw. It may be hard to be a great artist but with discipline you can get to a respectable amateur level and then you can do anything. The only pre-req is repetition

they don't see it as a fun hobby, they see it as a job. and honestly, probably a job they failed at and are bitter about.
i'm not a talented artist by any stretch but I still scribble things from time to time just cause it's fun. fun things are fun.
