It's pretty good for the first few worlds but it feels like everyone drops it after a while because nobody talks about how many boring fucking animal friend stages there are in the last half of the game. Thought this was a game about playing as monkeys not riding auto scrollers as a spider.

Anyway, DKC2 has some amazing highs and terrible lows
red-hot ride and lava lagoon was retarded to me after the first section and it just felt tedious

I fucking love all three DKC titles. 2 holds a special place in my heart, and 3 was awesome. First is still solid even though it falls short of the other two.

I love the soundtrack, especially everything in the second game. Bramble Breeze or whatever the Bramble level song is - fucking GOAT. That level is also insanely difficult. Play with emulation and save state to cheese it so you can 100% without incident.

I beat it on SNES though, all 3 games, 100%, so I earned my stripes.
