Not really. I remember when everyone knew nothing about how the mechanics worked, and people confused that with the game being hard. Yearly WoW was literally ignorance driving the game to success.

Yea, I play private servers and get to pretend retail doesn’t exist every single day. Anyone who says it’s not as fun as it was when we were little just has different priorities. I make passive income and can just play as much as I want, but even when I was a wagie I’d come home and relax to some vanilla wow when I didn’t wanna play some current gen vidya. It’s just soulful, simple as.

Some places fell apart after level 5, like the Orc/Troll area or worse, the unholy fuckery that was the NE second area
