Will FH6 be yet another FH3 reskin or will we finally get something new?

Considering how poorly their last "built from the ground up" project went, it will just be a reskin. Hopefully it won't be as obnoxious as FH5, but it's 2025 so you know it will.

Bold of you to assume we'll have racing games in 10 years.

They've helped each other in the past, and it's still the same management at the top.
The Forza brand is at an all-time low. They are not going to rock the boat while the FH3 formula still has some steam left.

It can't be Japan because you can't get accurate roads while scaling the map down, and weebs actually care about their road accuracy, whether it's the Wangan or some random touge.

Turn 10 and playground are not only completely different studios they are on completely different sides of the planet. turn 10 is completely brain dead but i have no worries about playground, the UK has so many unemployed devs with massive amounts of racing game experience, they have endless talent to pick from.

They aren't selling this game to the 5 people who play tokyo xtreme racer, they are selling it to the millions who know fuck all about cars or racing besides initial d, eurobeat and the tofu car.

>they are on completely different sides of the planet.
So are the various Rockstar studios. It's 2025, they do not need to send physical mail to each other to communicate like it's 1993 and they're making Super Street Fighter 2.
>the UK has so many unemployed devs with massive amounts of racing game experience
If I were a former racing game dev, I sure as shit wouldn't want to keep working on the most guaranteed dead-end game genre that quite literally has no future because of factors far beyond the quality of the games themselves.

I just do not believe that in 2025, anyone would risk big on a racing game of all things.

Those millions of people have moved on. Initial D peaked in popularity a decade ago. It would still obviously benefit the game commercially to set the game in Japan, but they also realize that it's likely not going to move the needle as much as it would have a few years ago.

Unfortunately Playground isn't what it used to be because they're also developing Fable which has been in development hell for a while now.
Forza Horizon was supposed to be on a one game every two years schedule, but its been almost 4 years now without a new one. Ordinarily FH5 would be due to be nuked from digital stores by now due to expiring licenses.

People make racing games because they like racing games, not because they would rather be working on fortnite but they couldn't get a job at epic. If you close down hyper talented studios like evolution, slightly mad or the dirt rally team then they have to go somewhere and why wouldn't they apply for one of if not the biggest racing game developer in the UK. The excess of racing game talent in the UK is why playground is so much better than their shitty American counterpart who was supposed to be the A-team but is actually a bunch of retarded indian outsourcers.

I got Flatout because these threads. Good stuff. The minigames are kinda shit though. I just stick to races and the destruction derby.
It's hard to believe this is almost 20 years old, it still looks great.

I think the fable team is separate and even if it wasn't and caused a brain drain there are more expert level racing devs in the UK than developers to hold them. I expect more studios to pop up in the coming years because of this excess amount of homeless expertise.

its microsoft. h6 will be in some other bland location. they'll never do a city again. all the cars you already had 4 and 5 will be fomo shit. more stupid story crap nobody cares about. more stupid shit with dumb youtubers. tiny little 3 minute races. etc. and somehow it will look worse than h5 and have 4x the requirements.

Does it really matter? Haven't ironic carfag weebs already left? The world has changed a lot since the Initial D mania of the 2010s. Cars are no longer cool, they're icky and evil in 2025, at least according to most young people.

In terms of top-down racist games I really really miss Nonoba Racer, it was so fun during its time.
