While I have been having a lot of fun with my Nintendo Switch 2, I am very disappointed in the durability of the screen. Have been reading several reports/posts of how easily the screen gets scratched, and my NS2 has a screen scratch at this point too. Most of the reports, me as well, took very good care of the console with no known physical contact outside of putting it in and out of the dock, which potentially means the dock can harm the screen. Some have disputed this, but it seems quite possible. I am not sure what material Nintendo used for the film layer in front of the screen glass, but it seems to be very low quality and does not protect at all from immediate wear. I did attempt to install a screen protector, but I am too much of an idiot and ruined the protector. (Asked Geek Squad to install it on launch day because I'm incompetent, but they told me they didn't feel confident in doing it since it was such a new system.)
Has your Nintendo Switch 2 screen already received a scratch and other form of wear?
>>713730330 (OP)this nigga too low IQ for a handheld console lmao
I bought a glass screen protector day 1. Since i saw how easisly scratchable the protector film was.
i put a screen protector on before even playing a game
otherwise sliding it in and out of the dock feels sketchy
>>713731317>>713731395This. Its common sense, my switch 1 still has a perfect screen because I did this.
>>713731395Plastic canโt scratch glass. Literally impossible.
>>713731542that might be true but it still gives me an uneasy feeling
How the hell are you guys scratching the screen with the DOCK of all things? Learn to handle your expensive gaming machines with care and this won't happen. Unless you're constantly disconnecting the Switch with nog strength I can't see how you'd ever manage this.
t. Switch 1/2 owner for 5 years with no screen protector and no scratches.
>>713730330 (OP)Mine's still fine but I'm starting to think I should get one.
Any recommended brands these days?
>>713731542The dust between the plastic and glass can though.
>>713730330 (OP)my switch 1 i put a protector on it, thinking it was overkill and unnecessary
then I saw my nephews switchand holy shit
looks like someone took steel wool to it
>>713730330 (OP)The switch 2 comes with a screen protector pre installed moron
They put a cheap pre-installed screen protector on it that scratches easily so you should add a glass one
>>713733864>>713734639is it easy to remove and replace? otherwise what's the point
It literally comes with a screen protector pre-installed, and it's fucking DOGSHIT. Not only does it easily get "scratched" (not a big deal i guess since it's just the protector, but it leaves fingerprints like mad and attracts dust like a motherfucker and and microfiber cloths have no effect in removing it. It's probably the worst screen protector i've ever seen, and the "funniest" part is how Nintendo put out a statement to never remove the screen protector.
Do yourself a favour and rip that shit off and put on an actual protector that costs more than 1 cent
>>713731542It scratches the plastic film that's on the screen from the factory though
