>>713754791>I guess if you're completely opposed to the feel of switches there's no way around it.it's not about being opposed to the feel of switches, it's about how diagonal work differently between switches and membrane
if the dpad is membrane and lets say you are pressing straight down on the dpad, your diagonal to the right doesnt need to be super precise, cause the membrane is soft enough that as long as your diagonal is withing an acceptable range, both down and right contacts will be pressed, resulting in a clean diagonal which is hit even during fast movements
but with switches it doesnt work that way, you NEED to be precisely pressng a diagonal at 45 degrees with very little range of variation so that both switches are fully pressed, otherwise your diagonal won't be registered, and in fast movements it is extremely common for one of the 2 directional input to be de-pressed before the other is pressed, resulting in D, F rather than in D, DF, F
>>713755015anon, that high resolution is what gives you better dead zones and more precise controls that allow a smooth transition between a light tilt and a strong tilt
think of steering in rancing games, that fine control is a need
so the solution isn't going back, it's just using hall effect, there is literally no reason they can't other than greed in forcing you to buy a new controller when yours inevitabl gets drift, or selling you a premium controller with easily swappable sticks(like the DS edge)
