Hard to say since a lot of stuff would happen differently with her around because of a lot disc 2 happens because they don't know what Aerith was trying to do in the first place
Maybe she stays at the Forgotten capital like her ghost/Jenova hallucination/alternate universe self is doing in rebirth, and the Crater happens the same way. Then Cait Sith and Cid pick her up to save Barret and Tifa when they're captured by Shinra. she'd stay with tifa and Cloud and help out in the lifestream(the Zack shit is connected to her so she could facilitate there)
The whole huge materia quest is kind of pointless to begin with(I'm not 100% sure why they were trying to thwart Shina's plan to save the world) and Aerith would tell them so, so she would just cruise around with the rest of the party and you skip to making plans to fight Sephiroth.

After that they'd want any insight she might have as to WTF is going on. She'd escape with the party though, and would play a role in helping Cloud recover when he's found in Mideel. I think though, that she and Tifa might start to generate some friction together over their affection for Cloud.
