>Skating in parking lot

God I remember meeting this one girl like that and we dated for a while. Total skater chick but had some spunkiness to her, short, tan, from Egypt. I remember she loved to go to this nearby beach when the sun was setting and just sit and talk. The sweetest kisses too. I remember the first time she did. Nervous but when I kissed her back and told her I liked it. She gave me more kisses.

They literally don't. Many of them sit around staring at their phones (not exclusive to teens), smoking weed, and listening to ghetto rap. That's how it was in my HS, I graduated in 2017.

The only thing I miss from those days is manuals. I miss having my parents buy me a game and I read the kino sovlful manual of it on the way back home.

In everything else, gaming is better now. You can still get nonstop fast food that is just as """good""" as what's in the OP.

However, if we also get into the subject of /tv/, the Netflix binge model has ruined discussion of television shows, unfortunately.

Got an air-to-air laser kill in my first match on "not blood gulch" while me and my target were both launched from man cannons. Many missed graduation and various events and opportunities too. It also exacerbated feelings of loneliness and isolation for many, which were already becoming an issue due to social media.

For me it was perfect, I was a few years into my office job then one day we all suddenly got dismissed for remote work and never came back. My one regret is not picking up DoorDash/Ubereats toward the start when people were hailing drivers as heroes and giving disproportionate tips. The traffic was gone in my city so it was an easy drive to the girl I was fucking while watching Tiger King episodes. And then Animal Crossing New Horizons came out which, despite being the worst entry in the series, was made as fun as it could possibly be thanks to EVERYONE being forced to play it. I know I’m a faggot for the gf but life really won’t peak like that again, even if we get another pandemic we’re probably not gonna repeat hilarious dumb shit like the one way grocery store lanes; no one knew how to handle it it was such a fun shake-up

It basically marked the biggest cultural shift since 9/11. It massively and permanently changed people's worldview and the way they interact, it changed the way the government operates and views the general population, the way businesses operate, prices, and everything else.
It's like living in an entirely different world after covid.

Traumatizing is an overstatement. It is however a huge cultural, thematic shift that we still haven't really recovered from. 2019 as mediocre as it is feels oceans apart from 2020 and the 2020's in general feel like a downward spiral of sardonic depravity. I'd argue we'll never really get over it for another decade unless some new calamity replaces it. 9/11 was bad but that also kickstarted positive amounts of change from media to unity for a brief period of time. Covid though? Nobody is gonna be looking back fondly on that.

Back in 2007 you could go to Burger King and get a Coke & Fries Halo. This was to market Halo 3, which was set to release later that year. In this promotion, they put Halo on Coca-Cola and fries, featuring Master Chief, and the release date of Halo three. Because of this, we have Coke & Fries Halo. The cool thing about Coke & Fries Halo is the design, it looks like Halo. This was to promote their upcoming game Halo 3. To do this they made Coke & Fries Halo. This was back in 2007 when people consumed a lot of coke and fries, and liked to play Halo, so I decided to combine them giving us Coke & Fries Halo. They did this in 2007 by putting Master Chief, um, and Halo related things on their design for both their Coca-Cola cup and their fry container, so you could go, too Burger King and say “I’d like a Coke & Fries Halo” and they, then you’d get this what you are seeing on screen is Coke & Fries Halo.

People joke but it was basically Gamergate and Trayvon. Trayvon signaled a massive change in U.S. politics (the end of le colorblind society) and the advancement of explicitly anti-white policies became the norm. Gay marriage being legalized also really energized the socially progressive sphere and its only recently that its seen the slightest setbacks (although nowhere near a complete reversal). Gamergate was the big moment people realized that games (and games media) was thoroughly leftist (read : anti-white) and, despite brief retardation from the #NotYourShield fags, sewed the seeds for the eventual Trump phenomenon. Games media became incredibly hostile to the core demographic of game purchasers and people grew defensive and hostile in response. They sensed that their hobby was being taken away by people who hated them so it was completely justified. We now live in the eternal Gamergate, it never ended. Everything is a culture war and nothing is unpoliticized. The magic is gone because people have been at (cultural) war with each other for ten years.

There's also the very real economic concerns that go into games. Games are hideously expensive to make now and companies who want to turn a profit rely on microtransactions and/or accept loans from the Blackrocks of the world (which leads into the culture war aspect because ESG funding means more leftism gets pushed into games). Game budgets skyrocketing also means games become more homogenized from clueless executives chasing profit which leads to the "magic" being lost from games. COVID had a part to play in this too since companies got fuck tons of zero interest loans and three years of people having tons of free time to play games and did fuck all with it. Now they rely on homogenized MP games and remakes to turn a profit instead of making le sovlfvl new games.

To be fair.....not really, a lot of people have noticed there aren't really third places anymore. Society doesn't want to facilitate them. Which is sad I feel like I've seen my Malls actively trying to become that again and be less store based and more about quick space rental for local communities. I hope it works out it's a legitimately a good idea.

Teens don't do that anymore. Well, most of them don't. I'm in my mid 40s with several kids and I live in a typical suburban neighborhood where there are a ton of kids and teenagers. Most of them are on their phones all the time and don't really go out and hang out all the time. I mean, yeah they sort of do social stuff but it's very minor. I graduated high school in the 90s and I was never home and that was typical for everyone who went to my school. I hardly see any energy from teenagers anymore. I want to see it and see some sort of rebellion or something but there's not much there, just internet and phone shit in the social media panopticon. Pisses me off so much because I sometimes feel like I have more passion for life than the teenagers in my neighborhood and it shouldn't be that way

I truly think not fantasising about fighting in a war like this and at least performing adequately if you're a male is a sign you're a psycopath.

It doesn't matter if you'd actually do terribly. It doesn't matter if you'd actually go fullmetal jacket in boot camp. If you don't fantasize about it you're a reptilian in our midst, aping us, an impostor species within the species. This is a fundamental sign of inner goodness, of a fundamental desire to transcend the self and touch the kingdom of heaven by prefiguring it.

Diversity caused this. I'd call the cops on teens at night too because there's probably blacks and Mexicans too. Back in the 90s when I was a teen we were literally out all night at parks and playgrounds just fucking around in the suburbs. We were loud at night and roamed the neighborhoods and never had the cops called on us or ever had the cops tell us to go home. We used to get a group of like 20 people spend nights and party in houses that were being built in our subdivision. No one gave a shit or stopped us. High trust society.

>Whats the tangible, real reason(s) the magic in everything just feels gone now?
Every aspect of life is controlled and micromanaged by technology with government and corporations working together to set the future to whatever they want it to be no matter how stupid or contradictory to reality. There is no luck or randomness where an average Joe might surprise anyone or something could change anything, everything is set and predetermined so people are effectively living in a simulated world.

Corporations do not have to pretend to give a shit about customers because both them and the customers know there aren't any other options and there is no real chance of an alternative being created since the companies lobby for regulations to eliminate competitors before they get off the ground. You either accept shit or go with nothing.
Everyone is monitored 24/7 and will have their life destroyed by corps and mobs if they have the wrong opinion on something once so it's safest to just lie constantly about everything and interact with others on a personal level as little as possible.

Winners and losers are selected from birth and the system is designed to streamline people to either success or failure so that the people in power face no risk of being replaced. Even if you grind your way to a million dollars against all odds it doesn't matter because you're still effectively middle class and the world is managed by eternal billionaires. So no real reason to work hard beyond basic necessities. It's very similar to what happened in the soviet union, it is the inevitable result of micromanaging people's lives.

AI will be the next big paradigm shift that will change everything so who knows what direction things will go after that.

You have your streamers, vtubers, tik-tok, tablets, and discord. I'm happy to avoid all of them.

Later generations not having any modicum of musical or shared culture is horrific. Its like a dystopia come to life, well more or less than it is now. When I was young even if I hated bands like N-Sync or talked about the LOTR movies or played certain games they existed and a whole market of other things existed too to tailor to tastes or personality. What do kids even have now? The MCU peaked and was never very good to begin with. Music? What upcoming star is there? The 2000's hasn't had a Prince or MJ or even someone reaching 1/20th of that. Like what the fuck do they even have!?

Bands, movies and games are universal. There is no generational line other than the people in them. I've never heard of Gen Z or Gen A speak highly of some new upcoming bands or artists, they don't have a Star Wars, Star Trek, Potter, LOTR, Jurassic Park etc. Things people would come together and love or talk about. No 90's Disney renaissance, no 90's vidya to bond over, no trading Pokemon cards, no malls, no making fun of Evanescence, nothing. I'm left wondering what they do all day because living like an empty husk with no cultural interests sounds worse than death.

I had a lapse in judgment and bought the Burger King How To Train Your Dragon meal because I really liked the original and love dragons. Guess what? It wasn't special. It was a burger, spicy mozz fingers, a strawberry lemonade, and a sundae. What was different about it that made it any more 'worthwhile'? The cup and fry box had branding on it and the bun was red. Probably the same red buns they wheeled out for Spiderman too.
It tasted fine, but that's all it ever is. Fine. I literally could have bought all the ingredients and done it better, having portions for a full week, at half the price, and at least as flavorful. And you know why I didn't? Because I felt lazy and had my nostalgia and fascination with fictional creatures pandered to. Don't feel fondness for promotional crap like this. Get something that lasts longer at the very least, like plushies or something.

This is further reinforced by video games having excessive step by step tutorials, quest lists and objective waypoint markers. Give them an older game without these and they will literally just sit staring at the screen, run around in circles waiting for the game to prompt them where to go and what to do thinking the game is bugged or broken.

A growing proportion of families are accidental or dysfunctional affairs, men and women getting together who are not at all suited to each other, or have gone through many partners before ending up with each other. It doesn't help that financial pressures are mounting to the point where starting a family is outright unaffordable even with both parents working even if you've got just the one kid. I fear for the future, because not a single government out there has a plan to address the issue, or even mitigate it, yet kids are still being born. There is going to be so much human misery in the near future, and it should have been avoided.

This is the key sentence. They only know how to consume. It still boggles my mind how to torrent or what inside of a phone looks like and I reckon its by decide. human eye = can see whatever is in front of it.
mirror = cant "see" anything. reflects light from every object at every possible angle, not just directly in front of it. making it possible to see the object in the room in the reflection of the mirror from the side

Boomers didn't teach their kids how to do anything, then they grew up and had kids of their own who they didn't teach to do anything. Basic life skills are being lost at a geometric rate.

tbf boomers are the same. My mom's go-to excuse is "I have read enough manuals in my life" when she's asking me some dumb shit she could have looked up in a 10th of the time it took to ask me.
And that's also by choice. They didn't have problems programming VCRs in the 80s and 90s, they just refuse to learn something new despite wanting to use it.
