I like the ending since it feels like an apology for the gay shit in Zestiria. Shionne is hot as fuck. The game itself is just okay, I really hate the stagger bar and how the enemies especially the bosses are just hit sponges.
Scarlet Nexus was the better Bandai Namco action rpg releasing the same year.

Within the timespan between 360 Vesperia and Definitive Edition, I played a couple more Tales games and after all that, Vesperia Definitive Edition really can't hold a candle to Symphonia, which is what I consider to be my favorite Tales among the ones I've played.

I believe is because they are trying to go the FF route and turn the series into big budget games with long development cycles. Because if you look at Arise it was pretty clear they put a lot of more time into this one Tales of game than any other before. It has the most well thought out battle system, best graphics, stronger narrative, etc. in the franchise... Yet lots of fans didn't really like it as much for some reason. I never liked Tales of games to begin with, so don't ask me. I only ever liked Phantasia.

I don't think so. Combat-wise Vesperia is way better than Symphonia and I think the story and characters are also better. The world map is also better in Vesperia. But I still think Abyss is the best 3D game in the series. Eternia is the best overall.

I don't dislike the story of Vesperia, but I think Symphonia's is also just far better. And Vesperia's world map kinda suffers from getting flight too early, so you don't really travel across three of the six continents which is a shame. The world has potential, but it's very unterutilised because of the early flight.

I think the early flight gives the player the opportunity to explore parts of the world on their own. It would have been cool to have a few extra secrets, but finding the School Fair and Hot Springs areas on your own is nice. They probably should have put the snowboarding minigame in a hidden spot, too.
