Kuro 2 almost mentally broke me due to how bad it was.
I regret starting this series.

I want to play a JRPG with actual relationships or fucking, not a harem simulator where nothing actually happens.

The closest I can get are h-games.

I'm interested, but the fact nothing happens with any of them kills it for me.

Sort of how you can enter a "relationship" with some of the characters in Persona, but outside of the 1-2 specific scenes (end of route/valentine's day) it's never referenced at all and has zero effect on anything. Kind of takes all the fun out of it.

I feel like trails games have been hyped up by leddit for a decade now. But like, now that most of them have been translated. They turn out to be extremely mid, and basic.

Like I gave trails in the sky a chance, and sure Estelle was kinda cute for a bit. But 40 hours for a prologue? Trails in the sky 2 was a little better, and it did feel nice to revisit old towns from the first game. But the pacing, 38 hours of slice of life, for 2 hours of story dumps at the end.

Cold Steel wasn't much better. haha... Why did they have to make the main character so shonen bait? Plus the civil war arc was just mid. Civil war happens, nobody dies. Evil cult possesses all the evil characters, so nobody did anything wrong. haha...

I wish there was other JRPG series that had the same inter connectivity that Trails does. Like, theres definitely something interesting there, and the world building is great. But the rest is just a saturday morning anime. Not bad for comfort food, but its not a deep or complex story like Xenogears or something.

for all it's flaws i still had way more fun playing it than the later CS entries. if you like Van and the Kuro characters you will like it despite it's dumb story
