>>713778614 (OP)>Wilds is easyisnt actually what people are saying, people are short handing the argument out of laziness (or theyre fed up of spelling it out when we should all know what the actual point is)
Wilds isnt easy, nor was sunbreak in that they both had mons with really fast attack strings that could easily one shot you with high defence and such, even upgraded. Things like novas or especially in rises case, bullshit moves.
What made rise so pathetically easy, was the overpowered hunter abilities. Most weapons had at least one, instant, one button super parry that completely nullified an attack as a silkbind skill. You had wirefall, the dog, healing that gave you 50% of the potion up front, really powerful stuns, wyvern riding knockdowns and free damage etc etc
Wilds, to be fair is less bad than rise for this, but you still have half the weapons having offsets, perfect guards, or dodges in some form. You sill have massive environment damage, stuns, flinches, and of course wounds doing massive damage AND stuns. (plus tiny monster HP pools)
When people say its easy, they mean mechanically easy compared to old MH. Not necessarily as a measure of death count or monster damage. No one wants more bullshit monster moves with +3000% more damage, they want to be more vulnerable and weaker so it feels harder to win. Not easier to lose.
The point is its not engaging, whats engaging and memorable is being david fighting goliath, not being a david sized goliath fighting a goliath.
Smacking rey dau out of the sky with an offset feels fucking incredible and looks amazing... but everyone does it at some point, multiple times... its hardly something youd gather round the table for and tell the tale of, unlike doing it in something like MHFU where that kind of shit was rare and down to the player, not given to the player.
