Played for a bit today. The new Oraxia boss is fun

Once a year i play warframe for about 2 weeks

And then i get filtered by the new endgame content because i'm not running a flawless build with corrupted mods and overpowered event mods you can't get anymore

I stopped when I got to the stage of the game where the only thing left to do was to collect more guns and frames and the only thing holding me back was needing mountains of forma and slots for everything. I would farm then spend hundreds of plat in a week and I got sick of it. Partially my fault for grinding so hard, but also the game's fault for having literally nothing else to do at that stage besides try out all the toys I hadn't tried yet or mindlessly raise MR.

Even if you go for "endgame content" with basic ass lv1 excalibur the rest of the team will just carry you. What the fuck do you mean by endgame content? Steel path missions? You can do them with excalibur umbra (obtained from story quest) with basic mods

I was going to play, but I found out that to get the new rewards for tennocon, you need to link your twitch to warframe and get it as drops, fuck that. A few years ago the Dex rewards would just go into your mailbox, few years later you needed to do missions to get the dex stuff. This year, get them as twitch drops, nope.

I played about 100 hours and then I decided to do the reasonable thing and bail out before it devored my life.

You'll have to wait for the item rerun then at a later time. There has been guns in the game from years ago that were Twitch drop exclusive until they were re-released at a later time. Weapons like the Athodai and the AX-52 were exclusive to Twitch drops at first. This isn't anything new. You will simply lose out on the occasional new content without a Twitch account.

You could just 100% armor strip with any frame using the helminth system at which point any weapon would work as long as it's not endless SP. It's one of the things that contributed to making me quit, the helminth system making frames lose their flair/niche.

Eventually, you'll just have every mod maxed out. Usually, the last two ranks of 10 rank mods are very expensive, so keeping them at 8 for now isn't a bad idea while you focus on other cheaper mods. Just focus on obtaining a wider variety of mods. Useful mods for interesting build ideas. Don't be afraid to put some survivability on your frames. You will often see build websites posting the craziest damaging builds that will just get one shot in a lot of content, but they are top builds on the site just because they have the best on paper damage numbers.

Wish warframe had actual dungeons/raids than mindless grind for nothing.

It's not for everyone and probably for the best. I still enjoy the game overall but play it in bite-sized chunks here and there. The important part about playing Warframe is asking yourself if you're having fun with the movement and combat mechanically. If you don't enjoy the mechanics, get out immediately. If you do enjoy the combat, just try not to think of the overwhelming grind and systems and just enjoy it for what it is until you get bored. Simple as.

I rarely use the helminth system. I have a lot of Warframes subsumed, but I constantly find myself liking all four abilities on a frame and feel that taking one away removes some of the fun of that frame. It takes a really garbage ability to make me overwrite one. I have the occasional Helminth ability, and usually, it's not even a meta pick. Just something to boost things in a fun way.

Honestly, it all comes down to exploration. The game was pretty simple back in the day, but they slowly introduced new systems. A lot of the systems are locked behind quest. Clear the star chart, look at junction requirements to get to next planets. Do quest as you get them. That will progress you to all the content the game has to offer over time. The game has gotten fairly story heavy over time. It's to the point that you eventually get hard walled on progression until you do a mandatory 4-6 hour long story quest that doesn't allow you to play the game in any other way until you beat it after starting it. Lucky for me, I enjoy the story. The star chart at this point is just the tutorial. There's a lot of different types of content now, but it can be fairly hit or miss if you enjoy it or not.

Ever since Reb got to take charge instead of fucking Steve, they've made a significant effort towards making the early game a lot less restrictive with what you can unlock early and more obvious on the intended direction new players are supposed to take. The game also has way better updates and balancing to a level that it isn't even funny how bad Steve was anymore, so even the older warframes actually get to use their abilities and whatnot more often.
It used to just be a shit experience where you can't even realistically engage with more than half of the gameplay mechanics until a ridiculous amount of hours in and you were just bruteforcing it because the setting was cool, but now there's a decent start.
No idea what the new "endgame" is like to say whether it is worth sticking around long since I just log in whenever a new Warframe or story quest is dropped and farm it to play around for a bit.

But it was a pretty fun game with a lot of stuff to do and see, it dominated my 2021 gaming pretty hard and I gotta say I got decent value out of ~10 bucks with ~1,100 hours played.
Sometimes I get curious about the storyline updates but whatevs: There's a lot of stuff to play right now. But it's a game I recommend to people if they want F2P with actual gameplay pr something to co-op with friends.

Haven't played this shit since I think Revenant was the newest frame? And I think Plains was the only open world shit in the game at the time. But I started playing way back when Loki was a starter frame, before they redid the intro. Overall I thought the game was very consistently going in the wrong direction with every sparse update, and everything I hear about the game since then has only reinforced my belief in that. And the story has taken way too fucking long to get anywhere.

No. I tried, and cleared most of the planets, but I got completely lost because there’s system built upon systems built upon more systems. There’s a free roam planet, I had to build a mech dude, I had to build a basedjak or something, I had to level up my actual human that was remote piloting the warframes, I had to buy plat so I could get mods and prime parts from other people, and it just got so overwhelming that my brain short circuited and I uninstalled before even getting to the hard parts of the game.

Lobby based, mission select games like this and Monster Hunter exist on a tight spectrum. Go too far on one side and it becomes a boring MMO simulator with no social elements. Go too much into the other and it becomes a casualized boring single player action game with no point to the grind. They both went too far into one side.

Nah. Not only does it have women instead of sexy biological suits, but the gameplay is less interactive and it isn't enjoyable to play with others whatsoever. Even the pub arena wide oneshot squads that plague every lobby are more fun in Warframe, that bubble lady and the electric bunny joining your mission was the absolute worst. Might as well just go grab a cup of coffee from the down the street because absolutely nothing is happening in that mission at that point.

With very long breaks, yes. I started in 2013 and I keep coming back. Play for a few weeks, then stop for a few years, repeat. I already have my main frames perfected, and no matter what they add to the game, nothing is more fun than Mag.

Tried Warframe 12 years ago and thought it was the worst "game" of all time....so no, I don't.
