I just drove a car today and it was really awkward having your foot on the clutch always (like when braking you have to hold the clutch down) and I'm wondering how the fuck do you do in split second situations where you gotta break in an instant?

>Best racing: Unbound
I'll always appreciate Unbound for changing how races are completed. You could finish as 8th place and keep playing other races since there are limited restarts throughout the day
>Best pursuits: Heat
Self explanatory. You could easily cheese them through a couple of spots but they are the closest thing you'll get to the intensity of Most Wanted, not the exact same pursuit experience
>Best atmosphere and music: 2015
One of the few good things about 2015

The franchise fell apart thematically after Prostreet
The shift games try to be sims, but SMS wasn't able to code a decent driving model to save their lives (weird collisions, cars turning like tanks, input lag)
HP2010 was Burnout Paradise with heavier, real cars, MW2012 was literally just Burnout Paradise with real cars
Ghost era games were developed by people that have never driven a car in their life
Unbound is a ghost era games in a semi cel shaded artstyle that fucking sucks
Just replay the older games with mods, NFSHP2 for the PS2 also has a patch on PCSX2 that allows you to have a modern control scheme (throttle and brake on the triggers)

Anything with that new drift system they introduced with Heat, maybe it was earlier, is shit to me. I can't stand that cars basically have two handling models depending on how you press the gas. I was accidentally triggering it all the time because just feathering the throttle can trigger it, but even after I got it down it still felt so centralizing and killed the fun. A tight drift around a corner should come from knowing the handling model of the game well, not just pressing a button to turn the road into ice then snapping back into normal driving.
