Northern Journey and Portal back when I played them in 2022
I guess Ashes 2063 in 2024 as well
remember, adventure doesn't strictly have to be fantasy
that said I'm so fucking mad about Dogma 2 still. it was meant to be the one

Roadwarden. It's mostly text based, though. Has some cozy pictures and music as well to get you in the mood.

it's infuriating how much potential dogma 2 had and they wasted it by simply not putting in any effort. It's like everyone can see the potential except for capcom, they didn't even try.

In the hands of devs that cared, dogma could be the ultimate "adventure sim" RPG.

I tried playing this but meeting a gay character at the start took me out of the mood

Oh, yeah, it's woke. Female warriors, gays here and there, I think it has a non-binary too.

Not too big an issue for me, though. The atmosphere, writing and roleplaying are incredible. And it's a pretty fucking unforgiving game on the hard difficulty, too. Loved it.

Time management and saying the right things is an extremely important part of the game.
You can die and the game just lets you go back to try again, but the real hard part on hard difficulty is getting a good ending.
Part of why it feels like an adventure. Exploring a map, clearing it out, meeting people, learning their ticks and trying to exploit them. It's cool.
