do you think you need to be good at video games if you're a game developer?
Romero is like 70 years old
>>713806487 (OP)No, that's what the playtesters are for. Miyazaki (FromSoft) is awful at his own games and can't beat Malenia without summons.
Depends on what aspect of development they are in.
I dont expect an artist to be good at an FPS, I expect them to be good at art.
However any dev that focuses on design must be good at the game he is designing. I dont expect speedrunner world record hitless nightmare 100% secrets skilled, but good enough to be more competent than most of their players and has an understanding of what makes their own game tick.
I dont expect John Romero to be good at all FPS games ever. But he'd better be good enough at Doom during its development to feel comfortable with UV, which he was.
>>713809062if he wants to act in it he definitely does
someday we'll be like this too, /v/ros...
>>713806487 (OP)Not really. Romero just loves to chill and play games. His streams are pretty comfy
Just gotta have ideas and a lasting vision
>>713806674>>713810068>>713811817he's 57 you idiots. you can still be physically fit at that age.
i think the fact that hes one of the greatest innovators in gaming gives him a pass to miss a few shots in a video game every once in a while
>>713806487 (OP)Judging by those dumb headphones, he's probably using an RGB mouse on 3000 DPI and wondering why he can't hit anything
>>713806487 (OP)Nah, desu, once I hit about 29 I stopped being sweaty at games and would just play to enjoy it. I haven’t put a game on hard or extreme unless there’s some specific mechanic that’s cool, like the ghost of Tsushima one shot mode with the katana. With online shooters I pretty much can’t compete anymore and don’t really want to. With boomer shooters I just play to see the enemies and the levels and miss a bunch like Romero did in OPs pic. It is what it is, let the young anons do all that sweaty shit.
