Something like Bioshit Infinite was labeled the Citizen Kane of gayming when it's a 3/10 game.

It’s not a bad game, but definitely overrated from what I’ve played so far. I feel like some of the fellating it gets is because it’s a very forgiving game and because of the story aspects. You don’t have to worry about losing progress when you fail a fight, you don’t have to worry about resource management when you explore, it’s very convenient. It’s the kind of game people would say respects your time. But it also makes the game less interesting.

I can’t think of a game that I dropped quicker than E33.
The blurriness, the way the character runs, everything about it is gay as fuck and unbearable

E33 has a great story, soundtrack, character designs but the combat is ass how it's solely focused on parry and dodge it should have been a secondary thing not a primary thing. That and the dark souls bouts to rest flags is ass and having estus flask healing system is ass the qte is cool like the legend of dragoon but the parry dodge system sucks it should have visual cues like vagrant story with its risk breaker chain combos if they did all that the game would be a 10/10 as of now I give it a 8.5/10 because it's combat just sucks

It's a a 8/10 game honestly, but it has great music, probably the best OST since Bloodborne, so that's a +1 bonus point making it a 9/10.
And a 9/10 3D game made by 40 people is a great achievement, so there's a lot of goodwill around it, I can understand why.

It's pseuds who are ready to jump at anything that's vaguely conceptual. But there's a problem if your avantgarde story was better executed by an alt rock band 20+ years ago. Which isn't to say Coheed and Cambria's comic is particularly good, but rather that E33 is nothing special, even under the limited ambit of nerd culture.
And if you take just a half-step out of jerkoff culture, you can easily see E33 is just a shittier Nolan movie. It's like a 20 year old kid's take on Inception.

I played quite a bit of JRPGs, all (or almost all) the classics and a good amount of the more niche stuff and E:33 is comfortably among the top of the genre

Except you can just look at Final Fantasy 1, which isn’t exactly hardcore for a classic RPG and it still has those aspects. If you die in a dungeon, you have to do it all over again. You don’t get easy free healing, free replenishable potions or anything like that. Even in old games that do allow you to save anywhere, you don’t typically get that stuff, at least not baked into the games systems on a core level.

Bloodborne has objective problems like frame stutter and its gameplay gets lame so fast, no good bosses and level design becomes bad in 2nd half.
DS1 is clunky, has bad gameplay, is too easy and the 2nd half is unfinished

E33 is way better than any Fromsoft game.
E33 has no flaws and its gameplay and bosses are better with even better music and thousand times better story and characters
