I've always preferred the shapes and colors of the Playstation face buttons the most. The worst offender is Microsoft, taking the Nintendo layout and reversing it. That shit fucks with my muscle memory so much when I go back and forth between Nintendo games and games on PC with Xbox prompts while I'm on a Dualsense controller. It's really bad when you get a quick time event telling you to quickly press X. The X button can be in three different places depending on which layout it's using.

Both are fine. The Switch 2 still uses that layout of bottom face button being cancel and right face button being confirm. Even for the US release of the console.

Having directional arrow glyphs (and allowing input rebinding) is best because its universal and can work even if your input device can be rotated.
