>Nintendo is still unwilling to port all the SMW assets into the game

I don't buy that it would be difficult in any way.

The majority of levels are
>auto scroll
>autism romhack tier difficulty
>6 billion enemies attacking at once with a hidden door somewhere so the creator could upload it
>a straight line
Yeah you can dig through the garbage to find a well made level, but it's a lot

>Switch doesn't have the same intuitive touch screen controls of the Wii U, level creation was not as pick-up-and-play
>No more Amiibo support, hundreds of unique costumes lost to the void
>Larger focus on multiplayer, which was notoriously laggy, moreso than usual p2p standards
>Updates were sparse, the Link and SMB2 powerups came nearly 2 whole years later
>Only one singular new level type in SM3DW, SML and SMB2 were likely scrapped
>New level additions were underwhelming, slopes and switch blocks were the only real standouts
>Level search function was limited, only popular levels shown were kaizo, meme music, or refreshing, difficult to find actual level design

This was why I didn’t play 2 as much. MM1 was one of the few instances using the Wii U gamepad made sense and was the superior option. It was way faster to create stages on the Wii U.
The Switch 2 mouse feature might actually work well for a potential Maker 3.

As of February this year it was marked as having sold 8,420,000 copies.
That's not a flop.

No one really wants to build Mario levels. We just want to play them.

Pretty much lol. Noo it didn't sell 80 million copies it's a flop!

Also, like half of the appesl of these kind of games is to design levels, which is like actually really hard. It's not surprising gsmes like Odyssey or Wonder are just more appealing.
