It's insane and at the same time sad how you can pick any year from 1995-2005, find a similar list on metacritic and at least 10-15/20 would be amazing, genre and medium defining games still thought and talked about decades later
Nowadays we're lucky if we get a couple of playable, yet forgettable games.
Imagine getting OOT, starcraft, baldur's gate, half-life, MGS, Grim Fandango, Fallout 2, Thief and Banjo Kazooie all in a single year
