Membrane keyboards are vulnerable to ghosting.
If you play any game that requires more than 1 or 2 buttons at a time, its generally in your best interest in having keys that have independent switches.
Clickety clack and rgb gaymer lights are lame though

Mechanical keyboards also actually last fucking forever. Ive had some corsair fucker for at least 8 years and it still works perfectly

I just replaced a mechanical keyboard I had for 10 years. I didn't replace it because the previous one stopped working I replaced because I wanted a new one with different switches.
Back when I was using non-mech keyboards I don't remember ever keeping a keyboard for more than a full year.

Use what ever you like. Mechanical keyboards aren't all good, but some of them can make typing a lot more ergonomic or otherwise feel nicer depending on your personal preferences and typing style. If you use your keyboard a lot, then it's not a bad thing to invest in.

There's no single mechanical keyboard that fits for everyone and if you can't understand why anyone would want a mechanical keyboard that's ok too.

Some keyboards don't have N-key rollover and it's a nice feature for some games for sure.

90% of mechanical keyboard fans care about the sound of their keyboard, as in the loud sound it makes. there is nothiing gayer than owning a mechanical keyboard
