The other day while walking to the store the town theme from act 2 in Diablo 2 came on. Fucking hell I forgot that desert town song was smooth as fuck. At first I didn't even recognize it "what is this India sounding citar shit?"

Depends what you want from Diablo 4. If you're just wanting to put some hours in it to experience the story? Then just hold off for a complete edition down the line when all the expansions are out. Currently the main plot is just dragging on and there's still no sense of conclusion anywhere. And then maybe hope they re-add all the seasonal questlines back into the game at some point.

Gameplay wise? You'll find better in the genre else-where.

Diablo 4 is a good game if you appreciate it for what it is
It's a shallow, SHALLOW ARPG that you will get a few days enjoyment out of before it just falls apart and gets old. It's fun for a while, but it has no substance. The build variety is awful, the story is horrible, the progression system is jaw dropping bad and gated almost entirely behind XP because Paragon is so overpowered, there is NO loot, the balance is borked, and the skill tree is just shit. The seasons are fucking embarrassing, POE adds more content, features, and changes in one league than D4 adds in four leagues.
It has a very fun and smooth combat system, arguably the most fun combat of any ARPG at the time of its release, which is what carries the 3-4 days you play it.

Hilariously, D4's singular claim to fame which is the good ARPG combat was almost immediately taken away from them. Path of Exile 2 fucking dumps on D4 in literally every way including the core combat.

DoAblo 4 should have been a Souls-like as they initially intended, there's no reason to have the top-down perspective anymore. The ARPG genre has progressed so far beyond what these archaic games offer, it's so weird to se big companies still pumping out this nostalgiabaiting garbage instead of getting with the times.
