Well unfortunately I have zero opinion on any of these because I haven't played them. In my personal opinion, the best 2D is Salt and Sanctuary and the best 3D is The Last Hero of Nostalgaia although I have heard great things about Hellpoint and need to sit down and work through it sometime.

its very good. you get multiple planets each with a different way to progress, like one you go backwards. You start with high tier items like blue chips, then break them down into green and red chips, then break those down into steel plates/ copper plates. Then you use those base materials to build whatever. I'm getting towards the end of it, and its going to be my goty.

51yo here. Just finished playing this. Didn't complete the dlc because it was more of the same and I was already bored of it.

Pros
-Gunplay and environmental destruction are great.
-Aesthetics, Story and Setting are top notch.

Cons
-Loot system felt like a last minute addition. It's bad and it hurts exploration. Is disappointing when you discover a hidden secret and the reward is a mod with 15% more Zoom or HP on melee attacks. Made me not want to explore.

-Low enemy variety made encounters boring, repetitive.

-Weapon forms are the usual weapons you see in every other shooter. Handgun, machine gun, nade launcher, laser. I expected more creativity with the games setting and powers. It's a morphing weapon and the protagonist have super natural powers. There are records showing the service gun can turn into anything including swords but they played it safe and boring.

I give it a 7/10. Max Payne is better. Now to try Alan Wake 2.

You should try Max Payne 3 with the cutscene skip mod. It and Vanquish really feel like the best third person shooters ever made which is a shame because they're still riddled with flaws, but are cool as fuck and impossibly well made nonetheless. Two gems at the end of an era.

43 here. Finished up FFVI (pixel remaster) the other day and had a great time, I hadn't played through it in probably 10 years and it still held up. Incredible how a game so simple can be so engaging while FFXVI was putting me to sleep every 20 minutes.

Summertime is Diablo II time and I have been thinking of what build to do. I should play a Druid I think but they don't have a lot of interesting builds. Hunger bear maybe. I think I have a Ribcracker that I can up to elite.

The summer Steam sale is a wash for me. I have been following threads on and off and I don't see anything that catches my fancy. Although it isn't on sale I might just get the Chronicles of the Wolf game (CV fangame made by the Lecarde Chronicles dev).

I can never decide what to play on my off-time. Currently have to finish Project Wingman DLC, I'm also in the 3rd DLC of Black Souls 2 but dropped it cause it was really kicking my ass.

There's also helldivers 2 I've just been slumming it up in with /vg/ which has been breddy fun. Wish swiggers actually added more content though.
