"Post gameplay" is a meme here but it really fits for this one. I have seen exactly zero clips of Rebirth aside from stuff centered around either Tifa's tits, Aerith pouting, or Yuffie's midriff (not that those are bad things). I legitimately don't even know what the combat looks like or if it was changed at all from the previous game. I have seen zero people discuss the combat or gameplay at all. And I have more than a passing interest in it so it's not like I haven't been paying attention. I'll still play it at some point but I definitely won't be paying for it unless it blows me away. The game is a slow burn meant to be about the journey more than the end. Its about the middle chapter, getting to explore the world, meet characters and develop bonds as you move on across the world. The original plot wasnt any different at all, many consider the middle part (midgar until temple of the ancients) the worst and slow part of the OG ff7.
FFVII rebirth is more like a standard JRPG adventure travelling across the world and far more character focused, remake was more tight paced moving from plot to plot.
So basically, if you dont care about the characters or anything and you just want to get over it so you can say you finish it, then maybe the game isnt for you.
