Id be curious to know if DBD sees any meaningful player growth or if it’s completely stagnating. I can see longterm players sticking with it because of either sunk cost or they steam it as a job, but why the fuck would you play for longer than a few days as a new player? It’s brutally oppressive because there’s a huge metagame to it and you’re at a disadvantage for basically forever because that’s how long it takes to unlock all the perks

it's honestly disgusting how many shit you need to learn as a new player in 2025, aside from the gameplay stuff like looping, flashlights, predicting movement etc you also need to learn what each 39 killers does and how to counter them, what each 133 killer perk does, what each 146 survivor perk does and you also need to learn to recognize the perks they're using.
