this is proof that no matter how a dev tries to do multiple tier difficulties it always comes to the detriment of the player.
Normal is now the old easy mode, everyone that plays after this update that clicks normal because they think its the intended experience are unknowingly playing the easy mode.
you have to go out of your way to play the intended difficulty because its not labeled as such anymore.

I really hate this almost difficulty inflation thing happening. Normal should be the intended difficulty and original difficulty ALWAYS. Anything less should be 'you didn't beat the game tier' and anything more should be the modes you unlock after beating the game and are used to all the systems.

Exactly. It's not just about having options, it's about those options actually being worth a damn. When the devs spread themselves thin across five difficulty tiers, none of them feel properly tuned. You get one mode thatโ€™s a braindead slog, another that spikes out of nowhere, and maybe one decent middle ground if you're lucky. Focus on one solid experience, polish the hell out of it, and let the modders make masochist or baby modes if people really want them.

This. I'm glad that it was Lies of P that tried this experiment and failed. Not out of malice or anything, it just might as well have been LoP. Hopefully FromSoft sticks to their principles about wanting everyone to engage with the same experience and learn how to determine difficulty using what's within the game itself.

Because an awful lot of retards default to the hardest difficulty, get roadblocked by a boss and drop the game.

I've seen that play out multiple times from one of my friends. He always plays on the hardest difficulty, and he always gives up when it gets too hard. And if you go into any "Why did you drop the last game you dropped?" threads, it's one of the biggest contenders.

They are only doing this because it was confirmed the game didn't meet their sales target because they fell for the only thing people care about is aggressive bosses so they filtered even the casual Souls fans as this is a more recent Souls thing.

And regarding boss HP, he said they are on the longer side (in my experience 3-5min is about the average) but they aren't really that tanky and if you're taking 10 minutes or something on a single attempt then you're probably just shit, which is true.

Part of the perception problem with Khazan is that your stats and skills are such shit for the first three or four bosses that the tempo of the fights are all awful. You spend so much time waiting for stamina to recover, you're stingy with Estus because you haven't gotten the extra charges, and you have no or poor dumps for your spirit. Trash mobs have similar problems around this time too. By the time you hit Rangkus/Maluca/Elamein, the tempo starts picking up and the combat actually feels much better.

This. For me it completely ruined Stellar Blade because it forces u to normal mode on 1st playthrough. The way they give u dopamine hits (story beats, epic scenes, grand moments etc) without having u put in any effort from killing the enemies or bosses destroys the game because it plays exactly like some cinematic movieslop. The game was a fucking joke anyway, there are 94 bonfires total in some of the smallest levels I have ever seen, so u can imagine how it goes - kill 3 enemies and u find a new bonfire, despite the character having access to 8 estus flasks and abilities that no monster can counter.

The only guys who were right about locking Hard to game completion were the FF7 Remake devs because that game is very punishing and requires learning enemies and knowing their weaknesses.
