AI slop for graphics
It just took some mods and made it 'remastered'
It's a straight up console port but if you use a controller you will enjoy it far more than kb+m imo
Would advise to getting (pirating) the original

Pretty good. Multiplayer is still completely broken. The new weapon models and animations look good. Wish there was a way to reduce the shiny bright look all the new assets have.

Too clean, the weapons look nice when the animations aren't wigging out
The hybrids and really anything fleshy in nature looks like SHIT

to be clear, this is a remaster, not a full remake (like SS1 remake), correct?

I've never played the games but I know they're good. Should I just wait for a SS2 remake?

sex with SHODAN

my thoughts is that the remaster is somehow undercooked despite having years of dev time on paper, I'm guessing only a fraction of that time was actually spent on it, nightdive are probably doing like 5 other projects right now, it's got visual bugs and movement bugs, and they got rid of SHODAN's weeb cyber kimono for some fucking reason

SS2 is never getting remade. At least not for like another 10 years. Just play the remaster or classic + mods, whichever you feel like.

you know the turok, doom 64, shadowman, dark forces remasters? same people quality remaster, updates the game in a tasteful way fixing some things without ruining it
if you don't want to pay 30 bucks you can just play the original it works fine "out of the box" also thanks to nightdive for including newdark by default

I see no reason to spend 30 fucking dollars on what is ultimately nothing more a mediocre hd texture pack for a 25 year old game I already own

What are you talking about
>it looks the same so it must be le same
no, it's ported to a modern engine framework and aside from the benefits that come with that it's obvious at a glance the lighting is improved surfaces have shaders applied and extra assets have been added to certain scenes

From what I've seen it's not worth 30 bucks. I'm playing the original again and besides one graphical bug in the cargo bays it looks and runs fine completely vanilla.

None of the shit you said is true
They didnโ€™t use AI for the models, consoles donโ€™t have it yet, they added their own improvements and tweaks to the mods they did use.
Verdict: pirate the remaster.

it's not completely vanilla, nightdive's re-release includes newdark and all sorts of bug fixes, if you were to install it from an original cd it would be completely broken

he came up with megatextures to solve texture tiling/repeating

I'll put it this way, the version on Steam runs fine without any other mods you'd have to install yourself, and is 20 dollars less (24ish actually if you buy the bundle with SS1 EE, or free if you pirate it), so this remaster is pointless.
