With GameCube coming to Switch Online, is anyone else thinking that Wii is coming to Switch 2 sometime down the line? Wii and GameCube games run on very similar hardware and seeing as the Switch 2 is capable of emulating GameCube as well as the joy cons having built in mouse controls, I think Wii is very likely. The Joy Cons could use the gyro in them just like the Wii did, and the mouse could be used in place of IR pointer controls. Not to mention that Wii remotes pair with bluetooth so realistically, they could make a system update to go along with the Wii library of games coming to NSO to allow people to pair original Wii controllers. They wouldn't even have to change the design of the lights on the pairing screen either because the Wii uses 4 squares to represent pairing and controller order just like the Switch does. Is this a no brainer to anyone else? I'm trying to think of things that might hold Nintendo back from doing this short of them being retarded and I believe the Switch 2 to be fully capable of emulating Wii software with some degree of accuracy thanks to the built in mouse and gyro controls.

I'll laugh if either-
- They can't use original wiimotes due to Broadcom shittery so they make a new Switch Online Wiimote
- They can't use original wiimotes due to Broadcom shittery so just don't do Wii at all.

huh really? I don't believe that. It only says it can't be attached to the ring...which I guess can be the case and kinda understandable with the magneting shit they went with. I still think it has the infrared thing though. Why wouldn't it

it's entirely possible but I think they'll go for remastering wii titles instead this generation
it won't work in handheld mode so I don't think they'll do it through NSO, I 100% expect DS NSO classics at some point for the switch 2 though

Wii games are such a total mess when it comes to control configuration compared to literally every other console ever that's more likely they'll just stick to the hybrid port/emulation method rather than do a Nintendo Classics for it. Shit, I'm pretty sure that's the whole reason they only did Gamecube games specifically, despite the fact Wii would only take a marginal amount of extra effort otherwise.

Yes but you'll have to pay another subscription on top of your NSO and NSO premium or whatever they call it.

id rather they do wii when they figure out vr
it would work much better, and would be much cooler with true 3d stereoscopic graphics

also they removed the camera from the joycon, so you can't use it like a wiimote pointer like before
mouse mode isn't the same...

I dont care. Nintendos Emulation is dogshit. N64 still has problems and has not got the Memory card support yet.

The Snes.Nes.GB emu has some problems too.

Even the GC Emulation is trash and does not support the GBA.

It's obviously possible but I don't think they would do it. Most Wii games are either redundant or too niche

Galaxy - already available
Galaxy 2 - ok
Brawl - redundant by smash ultimate
MK Wii - redundant
Prime 3 - fan least favorite
Punch out!! - maybe
Wii sports - redundant
rhythm heaven - ok
Other M - kusoge

I could go on but you get the picture. The Wii library isn't a selling point anymore

you know, for an era of nintendo that people seem to have so much nostalgia for, the wii's library really isn't anything to write home about.

and the fact that they didn't even try to sell Galaxy 2, because Galaxy 2 needs accurate Wiimote controls even more than Galaxy 1.

Please understand. The only way to bring back the Wii library is with full priced remasters.

Didn’t only like 6 games use the IR sensors in the entire Switch library? Including them for the Switch 2 Joy Cons would just make them even more expensive.

>Gyro+left thumbstick for cursor in handheld mode / pro-controller
>Mouse control for docked mode / tabletop
It could work but it won't be very ideal, best case scenario is Nintendo releasing a USB sensor bar dongle for Wii Remotes.
