They're definitely asspulling Link in somehow but what other characters do they even have?

Ideally they do what they did with DQ Heroes 2 and have a side mode for the old characters from Calamity.

All the Calamity characters, or most of them anyway, will no doubt return.
Maybe not the bonus extra ones like the fairy or calamity ganon or whatever.

I've got no clue whatsoever what they're going to do with the ancient sages though.
But I am very much looking forward to playing as Mineru. And I kind of hope we get a playable dragon hybrid Zelda somehow.
I also wonder if the game will genuinely expand on the hero's aspect.

Nu anime style zelda is awful. The “immersive” voice acting makes me cringe out of my skin. Zelda traded its birthright for a bowl of xenoblade jrpg slop.
