I actually really like the game but am finding it hard to commit to a playthrough as they keep changing core things. If the core mechanics were locked down and they were just adding content I'd keep going, but at this state I find it better to just wait.

An "early access" with supporters rather than a Steam release early access right away. Like Larian, the devs had the pedigree and goodwill with the Ori games to ask for backers and quietly work on the game.

Nah, not yet. They said PvP invasions are “planned post-launch content” which is dev talk for "maybe if the stars align." Right now it’s just co-op and some jank dueling if you cheese it with summons. Honestly a huge miss considering how good the combat feels. Without invasions the whole thing feels like it’s missing teeth.
