It was another Wario Land-like and did its job, sold well too even with Pizza Tower taking most of the hype for WaL-likes so not sure what the problem is. Not every game needs to be spoken about for months on end
Antonblast could have had more of its own niche as a more faithful Wario Land-like doing its own thing (as the game originally looked to be more of a spiritual successor instead of a WL-like) but the dev started doing too many literal copy pastes of too many mechanics from Crash and Pizza Tower so it turned into this weird WL-like game that's just a mishmash of a bunch of different things taped together.
Mix that with other literal copy paste things like Red Guy being AoStH Robotnik, and all the memes like literally me, overall make Antonblast lack any real identity of its own because it relies too hard on you noticing things from other pieces of media, laughing at that because it reminds you of [thing], and then you move on.
Like when you think of Red Guy, you don't think of the character itself, you just think of AoStH Robotnik, because Red Guy's character is way too reliant on you knowing the reference instead of being more of his own character that's a homage or has more of a loose reference.
Hope the dev makes a sequel that's more original and does its own thing instead of relying more on copy-pasting things from other pieces of media as that feels too close to ripoff territory instead of a homage or a tasteful use that's typical in "-like" games
He doesn't need to hide in Pizza Tower or Wario Land's shadow
