I actually don't know if I've ever played an asterix game (besides one that came with a cereal box like 25 years ago). Animations are kino though. (even the newer ones are alright)

That being said, I love Asterix, but I haven't played any of the games. I did see an Asterix game for the GBA that looked very visually impressive for the device.

asterix and the 12 tasks is the pinnacle of french animation

nu-asterix sucks
the movies peaked with mission cleopatre and the animated cartoons are old as hell
dont even think there's a proper translation to them all since the dialogues are 90% french puns

That set of episodes really annoyed me. You could see her alignments switch so far away that every scene she was in was a drag. Just waiting for the obvious has to be the worst thing a series can do.
